Wow, It’s hard to believe that In just about 4 weeks my internship will be over, and in about 5 to 6, I’ll be graduating! Time flies when you are busy, and I’ve never been more aware of it than this passing semester. Looking at my experiences so far, I feel that I have learned a whole heap of best practices, new practices, standard procedures, not so standard procedures, and how to make the most of transitions. Surely this internship has had its share of ups and downs, but I’m not going to escape that inevitable sea change wherever I end up. And Learning how to cope and make the best of these changes, as well as learning to step back and view problems or concerns objectively will all help me moving forward. Everyone at the office has done a good job of making me feel comfortable and welcome, But I don’t think it should be overlooked that I went (and go) out of my way to make sure everyone knows who I am, and that I am here to help in any capacity I can. I feel that It could be easy to let this slide and just become “that intern” who does not try to assimilate into the working environment. I’m glad that I’ve overcome that at least…
I’ve been busy at work, as we have a large number of our clients either out on tour now, (Motley Crue, Moody Blues, Mastodon, Etc) with a number of others preparing for tours and/or album releases later this spring or summer. In preparation for all of this, I’ve gotten a much more holistic appreciation of how everything works here. Having been thrown in to help customer service for a few days here, then helping iron out merchandise purchasing inefficiencies the next really keeps me on my toes, while giving me a taste of what these other areas of the company are like.
The management here is supportive of that, as they have a space for me to work here, but they want to know where my skills and interests lie. For now though, I’m still holding out to go on the road, and it’s still looking favorable for me to do that. That would have me on the road all summer! But whatever happens after my internship, I will look back at the time I spent here as a positive, formative experience, and as the start of my hopefully long-lasting career in the music industry.

Scott Beardsworth has been studying music in some way, shape, or form, for the past 17 years. Starting on Piano and moving to electric guitar and tuba, until finding his true instrumental calling of Electric Bass. Upon acceptance into Berklee, Scott chose to pursue the Music Business major.
With an equal love for all things business and music, this major was a perfect fit, allowing him to learn the business ropes, in an exciting field, close to his heart. Most exciting to Scott was his required MB-495 internship. He remembers sitting at the first internship meeting in his sophomore year, thinking about how exciting it will be to get real experience in the field he loves. Two years later, Scott has started his internship at a dynamic company located in the Boston area. PAID inc. is a turnkey celebrity services outfit, specializing in VIP events, merchandising, online marketing promotion, video production and more. The company serves industry A-listers such as Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and many more.
In his free time, Scott loves playing music with people of all walks of life and disciplines, especially with his two bands Goliath in Transit and Skylab.
