A pre-concert press conference was an hour late in starting, but more than 50 Mexican journalists kept busy chatting and sampling some of the refreshments left over from a previous meeting at the Hotel W in Mexico City. Five Latin pop stars would soon be in the same room at the same time. Never had they appeared in public together.
Tuesday in Mexico City means . . .
a press conference with Berklee, SGAE, and local tourism reps, an awards presentation to the alumni performers, a red carpet for the Latin pop stars and Berklee Canta contestants, a concert and competition at the Lunario theater, and a crew from Televisa’s music channel Telehit to tape the whole affair for a TV broadcast to 60 countries next month.
